✦ PRAY — Deepen your relationship with Christ

Prayer is at the heart of our life as disciples. Through the Mass, the Sacraments, Eucharistic Adoration, Scripture and personal prayer, we encounter Jesus and grow in relationship with Him. Wherever you are in your faith journey, there is always a next step.

Ablaze

Encounter Jesus through an evening of Eucharistic Adoration, music, prayer and Reconciliation. Ablaze provides an opportunity to step away from the busyness of life and simply spend time in the presence of Christ.

Eucharistic Adoration

Come spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Weekly Adoration begins following Friday's 8 a.m. Mass and continues until 8 a.m. Saturday. Stop in for a few minutes, stay awhile or commit to a regular Holy Hour.

Faith Formation Opportunities

Faith doesn't stop growing when we leave the classroom. Throughout the year, Sts. Peter & Paul offers Bible studies, small groups, speaker series and other opportunities designed to help adults understand the Catholic faith and grow as disciples.

First Friday Family Adoration

Bring the whole family to spend time with Jesus. First Friday Family Adoration provides a welcoming environment for families with children, so there is no need to worry about a few wiggles or a little extra noise. Age-appropriate prayer resources are available to help children encounter Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

OCIA

Interested in becoming Catholic—or simply curious about what Catholics believe? The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults provides a welcoming place to ask questions, learn about the Catholic faith and discern where God may be leading you.

Parishioners can also support OCIA by serving as sponsors, providing hospitality, sharing meals and praying for those preparing to enter the Church.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer is one of the most important ways we care for one another. Join our parish in praying for the needs of our community, Church and world and for the intentions entrusted to our parish.

Rosary

Join fellow parishioners in asking for Mary's intercession through the Rosary. The Rosary is prayed Monday evenings and before weekend Masses.

Parishioners who are comfortable leading prayer are also invited to serve as Rosary leaders before Mass.

Stations of the Cross

During Lent, join our parish in walking prayerfully with Jesus through His Passion and death by praying the Stations of the Cross.

Traveling Chalice for Vocations

Welcome our Traveling Chalice into your home for one week and pray together for vocations. This special Sts. Peter & Paul tradition reminds us that every vocation begins with prayer and that God is calling each of us to serve Him in a particular way.

Individuals, couples and families of all ages are welcome to participate.

Welcome Retreat

Sometimes the next step in faith begins with a weekend away. Welcome Retreats provide an opportunity to encounter Christ, hear the stories of fellow parishioners and build meaningful friendships rooted in faith.

After attending a retreat, parishioners may also choose to serve on a future Welcome team.

Altar Society

The Altar Society helps provide for needs within our church through annual dues, bake sales, the quilt raffle and other efforts. Its generosity supports items used in the celebration of Mass, including hosts, wine and altar linens.

Through the Catholic Ministries Appeal, our parish joins Catholics throughout the Diocese of Evansville in supporting ministries that extend beyond any one parish, including seminarian formation, Catholic education, outreach and diocesan ministries.

Our annual Die Kirche Auktion is a celebration of faith, community and extraordinary generosity. Parishioners support the auction by donating items, attending the event and giving to the annual Funded Item.

Helping Haiti Help Themselves

Sts. Peter & Paul works alongside partner churches to support Catholic communities in the northern mountains of Haiti. Gifts help provide nutrition, clean water, healthcare, education, reliable energy and sustainable development.

Our partnership reminds our brothers and sisters in Haiti that God—and their Catholic family in southern Indiana—has not forgotten them.

Haiti School Food Program

A simple meal can change a child's day. Through our Haiti school food program, parishioners help provide a daily meal of rice and beans to students at Notre Dame de Grace and St. Cyprian schools.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

Your generosity helps our local St. Vincent de Paul Society respond directly to neighbors experiencing difficult circumstances. Donations help provide assistance with food, rent, utilities and other essential needs.

Gifts may be placed in the poor boxes at the church entrances or in the Sunday collection in a marked envelope.

Altar Society

The Altar Society brings women of the parish together in fellowship and service while helping care for the needs of our church. Members support parish life through bake sales, the annual quilt raffle and other projects throughout the year.

Bereavement Meal Ministry

Sometimes the simplest acts of care mean the most. Our Bereavement Meal Ministry provides a home-cooked meal following funeral Masses, giving grieving families a welcoming place to gather with family and friends.

Five teams of parishioners serve on a rotating basis. Volunteers are always welcome to prepare a dish, help serve or assist with cleanup.

Freezer Meal Ministry

Help us care for someone going through a difficult season. Our Freezer Meal Ministry prepares homemade meals that can be shared with parishioners, neighbors and families who could use a little extra care.

Labor of Love Quilters

Share your time and creativity alongside a wonderful group of parishioners. The Labor of Love Quilters gather on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September through March to create beautiful quilts for the Altar Society raffle and Die Kirche Auktion.

Experienced quilters and those interested in learning are welcome.

Liturgical Ministries

Help make our celebration of the Mass welcoming, prayerful and beautiful. Liturgical ministers offer their gifts in a variety of ways, and training is provided.

Opportunities include Altar Sacristans, Altar Servers, Greeters/Ushers, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Rosary Leaders and more.

Marriage Formation Ministry

Married couples can help engaged couples prepare for a lifetime together in Christ. Sponsor couples accompany an engaged couple through marriage preparation by sharing their experience, encouraging conversation and offering the witness of Catholic married life.

Use your musical gifts to help our parish pray. Musicians and singers of all experience levels are invited to participate in the music ministry at Sts. Peter & Paul.

Opportunities include cantors, instrumentalists, Adult Choir, Children's Choir, Youth Choir and Resurrection Choir.

Walking with someone as they discover the Catholic faith can be a beautiful way to serve. Parishioners help make OCIA possible by serving as sponsors, providing hospitality and meals, sharing their faith and praying for those preparing to enter the Church.

Bring your experience, ideas and gifts to the life of our parish. Parishioners serving on committees work together to strengthen our ministries, care for our resources and help Sts. Peter & Paul carry out its mission.

Prayer Partners

Make a difference in the life of a child simply by praying. Prayer Partners are paired with students at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School and commit to praying regularly for their student throughout the school year.

It's a simple but meaningful way to connect generations and surround our children with prayer.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

Serve our neighbors through friendship, compassion and practical assistance. Members of our local St. Vincent de Paul Society help individuals and families facing financial hardship and other difficult circumstances.

Meetings are held monthly, and new members are always welcome.

Sunshine Club

Help build community and friendship among our senior parishioners. The Sunshine Club gathers twice a month for afternoons of bingo, Clabber, conversation and plenty of fun.

Welcome Ministry

A warm welcome can make all the difference. Help new parishioners and visitors feel at home at Sts. Peter & Paul by offering hospitality, making connections and helping others discover their place in parish life.

Welcome Retreat Team

After experiencing a Welcome Retreat, parishioners have the opportunity to help create that same experience for others. Team members share their faith, offer hospitality and accompany fellow parishioners as they take another step in their relationship with Christ.

Youth & Faith Formation

Help the next generation know and love Jesus. Adults and young adults can serve as catechists, small-group leaders, classroom helpers, mentors and volunteers for children's, youth and family faith formation.

You don't have to be a theologian. A willingness to share your faith and walk alongside our young people can have a lasting impact.
