✦ What is OCIA?
OCIA, Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, is a welcoming place to bring your questions, learn what Catholics believe and explore where God may be leading you. OCIA was established by the Catholic Church for those who are interested in becoming Catholic. Through prayer, conversation and learning, participants prepare to receive the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist, while growing in their relationship with Christ.
There is no special preparation needed to begin OCIA, and you don't need to have everything figured out. Our gatherings give you the opportunity to explore what Catholics believe, ask questions and experience the life of the Church.

- Those in need of Baptism
- Those baptized in another Christian tradition who desire to become Catholic
- Those baptized Catholic in need of First Communion and/or Confirmation
- Those wanting to learn more about the Catholic Faith
✦ How Does OCIA Work?
At Sts. Peter & Paul, our OCIA gatherings are held on Sunday mornings from September through May and are led by a team of welcoming OCIA catechists who are ready to walk with you in your faith journey. Together, the group explores Scripture, Catholic traditions and beliefs, prayer, the Sacraments and what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus. OCIA is more than a class; it's a journey of faith shared with others.
